During recent practice sessions, John Cronin has been spotted swinging with a wooden bat. This is no wiffleball wood bat, a real baseball wood bat. His timing with the pitches he is swinging at is impeccable, but can he keep up in the playoffs? John is the trend setter in the league. Back in July, he played in some games with a baseball glove in the field. While other players complained, the rule book does allow gloves to be worn in the field. Is John onto something, or on something? Some league analysts say he is practicing with a wood bat so that come playoff time, a plastic bat will feel drastically lighter and his bat speed will be a lot better. Is this an effective strategy? What are your thoughts on John's recent training habits. Leave a comment.
