2012 was the first season organized wiffleball occurred at Shed Field. Here are some other memorable wiffleball moments before 2012:
- Summer 2006: There was a stretch of time this summer that the neighborhood kids were hooked on wiffleball. Everybody went out and bought a ball and bat and we played nearly everyday. We had no idea what we were doing, but with the help of YouTube, we learned pitches and had a blast. This was the first memory of wiffleball in the what was to become Shed Field.
- 2010: The Shed was built on Memorial Day weekend. In the fall, with the Twins making another playoff run, many nights were spent out in the backyard with the radio turned up listening. Of course, the Twins lost in the ALDS to the Yankees. These are some of the fondest wiffleball memories for John Cronin, Joe Cronin and Joe Hubly.
- 2011: More fun wiffleball games. The majority of the games this summer were with the "Junk Ball". The first organized wiffleball event at Shed Field was "Wiffleball Day" in the summer. Roughly 8 boys spent the day playing wiffleball for a championship and homemade trophies. More wiffleball occured during the fall.
- 2012: At some point, Commissioner John Cronin decided to keep track of stats and form a small family league. The rest they say, is history...
